Our friend is a self-employed professional photographer (if he's not a "professional" he's good enough to be) and does stock photography which is generic pictures that magazines can use for a small fee--he gets a small fee for them through the website he uses. He has taken pictures of the kids and taken some of our family pics as an unofficial tradeoff. He took a nice family picture and some cute ones of the kids but the kids weren't cooperating with a picture together or with me (oh well). Otherwise we have some cute pictures which I'll probably try to post on facebook...After playing around in his studio and having lunch we headed down to the town below his house--Villa Nova where they were having one of the holy ghost festivals (you can google it to find out more) which are held each of the first 6 sundays after easter. They have huge loaves of bread that they hand out, wagons with food in them for family and friends, and wine that they just pass a cup around and refill--the guy stands there while you drink it which was a little unnerving...It was fun to walk around the Portuguese who were all dressed up and smiling and listen to the little band that was there. They really have fun with their small little festivals and celebrations. The kids liked the ice cream we bought them the best.
