sleepover--or not

We had a busy weekend--really week since the last post! Heather and Charlie tried to have a sleepover on Thursday night since Heather didn't have school on Friday. Each had a friend come over and they did really well. The 4 year olds were asleep by 8:30 and the 6 year olds an hour later--even Cameron was sleeping! Unfortunately one of the kids woke up with night terrors and her dad had to come and get her--it was pretty scary, I couldn't seem to wake her up--and of course Cameron woke up as well...My friend came over to help out and ended up taking her sleeping daughter home as well just in case she woke up too. So after getting 5 kids to bed we woke up with 3...Since Heather had the day off we went to the beach and played with a friend for part of the morning and picked Charlie up for lunch-n-bowl with some other friends. That evening we had a campout to top off a busy day. Saturday we took it easy for the morning then headed to the Praia walking strip with bikes and friends. The kids rode, walked, and stopped for doughnuts (which we made earlier) as a snack. After a brief play on the beach we headed home for a quick clean up. Since it's getting dark early our friends had their "movie night" outside, hanging a sheet out a few windows and using their projector to show a movie on teh side of the house. The kids thought it was great and most sat for the movie. Sunday we played outside and had a picnic for lunch. We've been trying to enjoy the weather as each day gets a little rainier and windier. "winter" is coming...

Tonight a friend's husband kindly kept 6 kids and I went out to dinner with some friends. It was really nice to get out and enjoy adult conversation (ok so some of it did involve kids and school) at a nice restaraunt. Steak kabobs, fried potatoes, and caramel fondue (not as good as it sounds--the fondue only) was a great treat for all of us!

Hey Sara! Glad to hear you are keeping (really, really) busy in Jeff's absence, and sounds like you are having fun and things are going OK! Max has night terrors also- I agree they are scary becuase they last a long time and you can't get them to wake up. one time he was even jerking a lot and drooling, which was super scary!
Well, keep up the good work, I think you deserve a super-mom medal right about now!!! :)
