It's been a while since I posted...Last Sunday we had a fun afternoon testing out roller skating! One of Charlie's friends turned 3 and we went roller skating with her family. Charlie did pretty well and even ventured on his own for a bit. Heather's skates were REALLY slippery and she was falling all over the place and REFUSED to let go. They also have a little climbing thing that the kids did after about 20 minutes of trying to skate which they had a great time in!! The highlight for the kids of course was cake back at Mirabelle's house...
Monday we had a fun FULL day. We had 9 kids over at our house at one point with 3 adults!! then when Jeff came home for lunch there were 7 and he managed to get lunch out for 6. I'm not sure he will be coming home for lunch for a while...just in case :-)
We're gearing up for a trip to Ohio on Saturday. While Jeff goes to a training for 2 weeks we'll spend time with family, do a bridal shower and some OU basketball games. Should be lots of fun and the kids are really excited. "i just can't wait until we go to grandma's house."

happy valentine's day
We had a nice valentine's day although it didn't go quite as planned. Heather went off to school to have her party and Charlie and I did some decorating and got treats at the grocery store. We all fell asleep after reading books and got a good hour nap in before I wiggled my way out from between the kids. Unfortunately Heather woke up with a fever, which canceled our dinner plans as Jeff's friend had offered to watch the kids. Heather was disappointed but we made it through a very romantic taco dinner and some laid back "family time". Tomorrow we get to "dog sit" for Heather and Charlie's favorite babysitter "Riley". They are very excited and hopefully will be feeling back to normal. Jeff fell asleep reading the kids books so it is a romantic end to valentine's day for the tired parents...

sick, sick, sick, and awards...
Tuesday night just as the tornado warnings went off at 1:30 in the morning Charlie decided to puke massive amounts of after dinner snack to the point that I was sure when they found us buried underneath the rubble they would see the vomit all over me and him :-(. The rest of the night we spent a good part in the hallway (after the tornado that came through a few weeks ago I'm not messing around with waiting around). Unfortunately the next day the kids and I were sick, fortunately no more vomiting, but fever, body aches, and grumpiness. We watched TV ALL day except for about an hour and I only got off the couch to get them drinks or put in a different movie.
The next day the kids rebounded but unfortunately I did not. Luckily my friend came by with a celebrity magazine, some soup, and ice cream and took the kids for a couple of hours (yeah!!). Most of that day and Friday I spent on the couch--poor jeff came home to no dinner, total disaster, and wound up kids. After he righted the house he headed back in to work...
Today he took the kids for a few hours while I continued my vigil on the couch and then I rallied to go to the annual awards banquet--a semi-formal/mess dress affair. Jeff's co-worker came over to watch the kids with her dog which the kids thought was great! Although I hadn't been on my feet for more than 10 minutes at a time I made it through the hour long cocktail hour, national anthem and blessing before sitting down. There were moments that I thought I would not make it but got through it with minimal coughing and sniffling. Making it worth it was when the speaker talked about heros and the accomplishments of some of the people in the room including one of Jeff's airmen and Jeff winning the COMPANY GRADE OFFICER OF THE YEAR award for the wing. It is quite an honor and he was basically selected out of all the 2nd, 1st, Leuitenants and Captains on base. He got a fancy eagle which will have to go to his office b/c it's much to scary to keep at our house :-)

February already!
no posts for a while but lots of fun stuff to report!! Last week Jeff got an award for being the flight commander of the quarter for the whole wing (that's our whole base). He's trying to rack up awards as this weekend we'll go see if he wins Company grade officer of the year for the whole wing. It's nice to get to put it on your military resume and gets some recognition from the higher ups for hard work. I'm not sure the little eagle statue was worth the extra hours but it looks nice on Jeff's desk :-)
In other family news Heather had a devestating experience at school when the whole class (all 6 kids that day) ran from the bathroom to the classroom and got their cards turned to yellow. The bad part was at the end of the week when the other kids (who weren't there that eday) got to pick from the treasure box and got "really cool red, heart suckers. I really wanted one. I was so sad." It was a rough life lesson for heather in listening.
Charlie's leatest entertainment is that we told him when he had to go potty he just had to tell himself that he needed to go. so every so often he will stand up and say, "self I have to go potty I told myself" and off he goes. It's hilarious!!
